Styled Shoot for Rocky Mountain Bride Spring 2016 Regional at Spring Creek Ranch
Photography by the uber talented Hannah Hardaway.
On a gorgeous June day, the light was warm and soft, the grass was shoulder high, and mountains still shimmered with snow. Spring Creek Ranch offered us the perfect inspiration and backdrop for this fun project.
This was such a fun project to style! Hannah Hardaway shot everything in such soft light that really enhanced the romantic June glow we were going for! I wanted to highlight our big Wyoming skies, sweeping plains, and dramatic mountain ranges. We wanted to incorporate western elements like leather, cow skulls, hides and vintage silver while keeping it feeling young, romantic, and little bohemian. To accomplish a balance of boho-western and classic romance we kept everything fairly dressy using heirloom silver trays and crystal stemware with more modern elements in the Heath Ceramics china and Tayloe Piggot jewlery. The soft whites and antique colored roses mixed with wild raspberries and dark leaves lended texture and were placed in wooden challices and wrapped in leather. We wanted the whole shoot to have an eclectic americana feel, utilizing gorgeous natural elements, vintage furniture, and wild romantic florals. Thanks to Spring Creek Ranch, to our lovely models and to everyone who put so much hard work into every bit of this awesome shoot!
